Episode 330: Not Leaving Health to Chance: Proactive Avocado Nutrition with Registered Dietitian Malena Perdomo

We’re on our journey to building healthy habits! In partnership with Saborea Uno Hoy, this week we interview Malena Perdomo, a registered dietitian and Avocado Goodness Expert for Aguacates Frescos - Saborea Uno Hoy®. During our conversation, we learned that according to the CDC, Hispanic American families are disproportionately more likely to have obesity than non-Hispanic white adults, making them more susceptible to heart disease and stroke. Say what?! Lucky for us, Malena shares some tips about how to care for not only our hearts but for our overall health with the help of resources like a fun Lotería-style game you can download now to play with your family after your avocado-filled dinner tonight.

In case you didn’t know, one-third of a medium avocado (50 grams) has 80 calories and contributes nearly 20 vitamins and minerals, making it a healthy, nutrient-dense food choice. After this interview, we were not only hungry but also bigger fans of aguacate than we were before!
